What's on Your Design Wall, July 6th 1990

Over at Judy Laquidara blog she is featuring 'What's on Your Design Wall Monday's'. For a couple weeks I've been trying to decide if I should join in. I've been afraid because the same thing has been on my wall for 3 years... YES! I said 3 years!!! It has changed a little here and there, but not by much.

This is my One Block Wonder that I cut out before we moved into this house in September of 2006. After we first moved I put up some batting and arranged these blocks.

Then after a while it looked like this...

Then about this time last year a got a wild hair and decided to make some cube blocks to mix it up a bit...

What I can't decide now is if I want to cut off the top edge and make it square or piece in more triangles and have it zig zaggy. Do I want both the top edge and bottom to be straight, both zig zaggy, or the top straight and the bottom zig zaggy???? So many decisions... what to do, what to do.

I'm hoping WYW Mondays (What's on Your Wall) will put me in gear to work on this, but then again... I have to start a new project for a class I will be teaching so
it may be a while before I can think about this one... LOL We'll just have to wait and see.

  1. I like the contrast of the black and the tan fabrics, I think I would square it off, two sides in black, the other two sides in tan.

  2. WOW, your OBW is awesome! Who knew B+W could be so striking! What does the original fabric look like, or did you cut it all up?

  5. Kim, that quilt is going to be stunning. The contrast between the tan and the black is very effective!

  7. I used the same fabric for my OBW, but did he octagonal block. Its bordered with a stripe which was a bear to mitre. If I can figure out how, I'll leave a photo.
