Quilting for customers

I started another quilt for one of my favorite customers. She sends me 6 to 8 quilts a years... This one is from the BQ pattern. It's a fun and quick pattern to make. I have 2 exactly a like to quilt for Pat. They are both gifts so she wanted to keep the quilting simple.
I'm doing my freehand version of the pantograph called Popcorn. The pantograph goes pretty fast, but I decided to do it freehand on this quilt because I'm doing a separate border treatment and it's easier for me to stop and start at the border freehand. The little red border is actually a flang or a 3D border so I didn't want to quilt over it.That last picture is a little washed out... I played with the contrast and brightness in my photo program trying to get the quilting to show...

I'm doing swirls in the border... and stitch in the ditch between the borders.

The main fabric is from the 2006 Western Washington Shop Hop by In the Beginning. I love that fabric!!! I'm wishing I would of gotten some, but it's not available anymore... maybe I should check e-bay.

I should have this done and the next one started today.

This last weekend I spent a good part of the day on Saturday down at the creek.... waiting to see if I would spot another salmon on it's journey to spawn. We've seen salmon going up other creeks in the past were there were hundreds of them... this is the first time I've seen one lone fish. I'm wondering if it is late or earlier than the rest. We were lucky to be there just at the right time to watch it...

Time to get to work....

  1. Love your quilting on this, Kim!

I didn't know you had a blog, so I'll add you to my blog list, too.

    Happy Quilting, Carla
