Just Leaf It: Freehand leaves for borders and setting blocks
Have you feathered everything that you
can think of to the point that you’re doing feathers in your sleep? This class offers a creative
alternative. What you can feather you can
leaf. In this hands-on workshop we will start with learning how to make the
basic leaf shape. Kim will show you how
to do several border treatments from simple to complex. We will work on block designs including
Double Wedding Ring, setting triangles, and how to fill odd shapes with
freehand leaves. This class is for all
skill levels.

Heavy Metal Quilting (Kim’s NEWEST class!!)
With the look and feel of rod iron fencing Heavy Metal gets its name. Don’t be fooled by the name, these designs are made using soft curves and spirals. You will learn how to quilt the border treatment that started it all with a little bit of marking to divide up the space and turn the corners with ease. Kim will explain the process of creating unique custom designs for many traditional and modern quilts. This class is for all skill levels.

That Loopy Thang: Quick custom designs for samplers and other quilts that stump your imagination.
Bring your sketch books and follow along as Kim uses loops, swirls and continuous curves to design custom treatments for sampler blocks. You may boost your profit margin with this technique to quickly get those samplers done. Students are encouraged to bring unquilted tops for group discussion on design possibilities. This class if for all skill levels, but geared for beginners to intermediate. This class is for all skill levels.

Hands On Classes

Rulers, Rulers, Rulers…
In this hands-on class we will learn how to use rulers in your quilting. Starting with stitch in the ditch and straight line quilt then moving into circles and curves including curved cross hatching. We will also explore the endless foundations, or spines that can be created using different rulers along with other shapes to add other elements such as feathers and leaves. This class is for all skill levels.

Fantasy Feathers: Elegant to Whimsical Designs.... Not your traditional feathers
Learn to create these unique Fantasy Feathers for elegant to whimsical designs. Once you have the basics of constructing these feathers we will explore using them in borders, blocks and setting triangles. Kim will show you how to use stencils, templates and rulers for the foundation to quilting these designs into your quilts. We will explore using 2 different colors of thread for a more whimsical look. This class is for all skill levels.
