Zenquilting

I came across a few blogs about Zentangles and Zendoodles which got me doodling. I already doodled but now it's with a purpose :-)

So over the weekend I decided to make one of my doodles into a quilt....

Now to add some color... and maybe some bling!

Oh yeah, this is a small sample of some of the feathers I will be teaching in my Filigree Feathers class at Innovations in a few weeks. There's still spaces available if anyone is interested....

Blueberries

Last year the Steller Jays got all the blueberries before I did...  This year I will not let that happen!

This and that...

First of all the rodeo was a blast!  It's just our small county fair but fun not the less... :-)

I got my mess cleaned up, well sorta.  Like I said before my room is a little messing to begin with.  Just not enough room for all my quilty stuff, but all the books and patterns are back on the book case.  The bookcase is shimed up right so as not to fall over again.  I keep telling Dan that it has been leaning since we put it there when we moved in and that was like 4 years ago!  I have a few magazines and catalogs to go through... keep what I need or think I need and throw out the rest, and that's about it....

Today's doodle...

I was trying to add some shading to this one to give it more depth...  doesn't really show as much as I thought it would.  These stars are inspired by my good friend Vicki Star birthday.  It's this coming weekend.  Here's to you my friend!

A big MESS

Last night while cooking dinner I heard a big crash, bang, boom!  Dan yells from the other room "what was that?"  I'm like.... don't know!  Go down the hall to investigate... my bookcase in my quilting room fell over!!!  Do I laugh or cry?  OMG what a mess! 

Mind you my room is a little messy to begin with.  It's barely big enough for me to walk around my A-1 Longarm Machine.  So here's the mess that is waiting for me...

That one was after Dan pick of the bookcase for me...  he is cutting me some shims to help hold in place.  He keeps telling me that he warned me that it was leaning forward... but I don't remember.

Some of my longarm rulers ended up at the other end of the room....  hopefully non of them are broken!

Maybe I'll just go to the fair rodeo and watch cowboys in tight wranglers instead.....  ;-)

Now for something quilty!

Bet you thought I forgot about quilting...  nnnaaaa!  That would never happen!

I finished this a couple weeks ago and forgot to post it since I've been obsessed with doodles.  I had so much fun quilting this one!!!  It was really hard to send it back to it's maker, but she loves it and that's what really matters.

Practice Zen....

There are a couple blogs that have Zentangle how tos that I have been visiting... so I decide to start doing some of these step by steps to see what may come of them. This is my version of Daggerly from Open Seed Arts .

you can see where I got bored with the same design over and over and added my own thing....  maybe that's why they have you work in side a 3 1/2" square!

Doodle of the day

I got brave and actually drew in my new sketch book.  I was nervous at first because I'm always afraid of messing up, but realized if it is really bad... I can rip out the page!
 
All things are leaves....  OK, I'm really, really likeing this one!  This one could make a really cool tattoo, but where would I put it?
