Ta Done

I finished this customer quilt and thought you might like to see it...

I used navy blue Glide thread from Fil-Tec in the blue...

And in the print fabric...

I also used Magnifico Elegante by Superior for the rest of the quilt....

And the back is always fun to see...

Almost done...

I'm almost done with the Crazy Quilt...  I really, really like the way the border corner turned out!

I feel like I've used a roll of tape on the tape roller thingy trying to get all the lint of the velvet.

Doing a few motifs in the patches...

I've been asked about the thread catchers and if there is a pattern.  I found them on Pinterst...  and followed the pin to NEEDLING THINGS where I found the tutorial on how to make them.  She says to use a 9 1/2" triangle, which I did for this one.

I thought it was a little small, specially for my big hands!  So the last 2 I started with a 12" triangle.  I like this size better :-)

Yesterday's Quilting

I'm working on a Crazy Quilt for a customer.  I believe the blocks were made by a family member in years past...

She sashed the blocks with black velvet...

Stitching in the ditch around all the patches with Superior MonoPoly.

I'm doing a feather design in the border and sashing...

Every piece of lint clings to the velvet!!!

I also made a couple more thread catchers...  This time I started with a 12" triangle instead of a 9 1/2".  Like this size much better! :-)

Now I need to find some buttons to sew on these...

Home...

I'm home again...  laundry is almost caught up, the house is cleaned and I'm ready to start quilting!

I started this customer quilt before I left for Kansas.  Hope to finish it today!

MQS was fabulous!!!  I love this show...  Beautiful quilts, my classes went great, and my students were wonderful!  The best part of MQS is the organizers and volunteers!!!  They are the best of any show I've been to  :-)  The only bad thing is I never had time to take pix of the quilt :-(  I was busy, busy, busy! But it was FUN, FUN, FUN!  Took my big fancy pants camera and never took it out of the bag....   good thing I bought the show CD  :-)

I did get a chance to visit with many friends.  Some that I've know for awhile from different sights on the internet and others I'm just getting to know.  It's always nice to meet the people that read my blog...  :-)

This is the only purchase I made the whole week...

Leftovers Bali Pop Quilt

I finished this quilt a couple weeks ago...  and never shared it with all of you here.  So better late than never.

This is a customers quilt from the pattern Leftovers.  I have no idea why they named it Leftovers but I think I'm in love...

I quilted my freehand Leaf Meander... (one of my favorite designs from my book Just Leaf It)  Thread is King Tut on top and Bottom Line in the bobbin.  Warm Soft & Bright Batting....

I just love the way the darks and lights dance across the quilt top...

The quilting photographs better in the light fabrics...

Now to find some Bali Pops that I can't live without!

WIP Wednesday a day late... Mocha Swirl

I had so much FUN with my Stackers quilt I decided to finish up a quilt that I started several years back. (the second quilt in that old post)  I took the triangles of the blocks that I started so that they would create a kaleidoscope where they meet....  while putting the blocks back on the design wall I kept wondering how it would look with a darker brown print...

And of coarse I had to stack the brown print too!!!

I really really like this now...

I usually have a hard time naming my quilts, but this one called out for one...  Mocha Swirl!
